March Scribe Spotlight: Maria Martinez

March 30, 2024

Welcome to the latest installment of our Scribe-X blog series, Scribe Spotlight, where we delve into the remarkable individuals who form the backbone of our organization. Today, we are pleased to introduce you to Maria Martinez, an exceptional medical scribe whose dedication and exemplary work have set her apart.

In this special feature, we'll not only explore Maria's outstanding contributions in her professional capacity but also take a glimpse into her personal life. Join us as we uncover the story behind Maria's excellence, both inside and outside the medical arena, and discover what makes her a truly extraordinary member of the Scribe-X family.

What drew you to working with us at Scribe-X?

The opportunity to work remotely while learning from multiple primary care providers.

We know about the benefits of working with you, but what about you? What do you think is the biggest benefit you've gotten out of working with Scribe-X?

The biggest benefit I have gotten from working with Scribe-X is working and learning from primary care providers who take on multiple areas such as pediatrics, women’s health, and rheumatology. These providers work for non-profit clinics, and this has shown me a side of healthcare that I had not previously experienced, but that allowed me to have a better understanding of the barriers to healthcare accessibility for low-income families, refugees, and uninsured patients.

Is there any advice you'd give to people considering working as a remote medical scribe?

It might be overwhelming at first, but be patient with yourself, it always gets better with time. If you are trying to gain clinical experience this is a beautiful opportunity, and you get to meet great people!

A team cannot be successful without the help and hard work of its members, and we want to thank you again for being one of the best scribes we could wish for. To that end Is there anybody in your life (professionally or personally) that you'd like to thank or express appreciation for?

I would like to express appreciation to Dr. Lenhart, for being such a great provider. He is patient and caring with his patients. One day I aspire to be a medical professional like him! I would also like to thank our scheduling coordinator Kathryn W. She is always on top of everything and she is always helpful. I really think that Scribe-X is a great company to work for. If I could describe them in three words, they would be: nice, diligent, and approachable!

Do you have any hobbies or interests that you pursue in your free time?

Traveling, learning Japanese, volunteering for the animal shelter, hanging out with friends and family.

What advice do you have that you wish you could tell everyone?

Learn to be happy when you are not where you want to be

Do you have pets? If so, would you like to share anything about them with our audience?

I have one 3-year-old Pomeranian named Poli. He is the smartest boy and has a big personality.

Maria's journey with Scribe-X shows us the importance of dedication, empathy, and always being open to learning. Her story reminds us to be grateful for the support of our mentors and colleagues and to find joy in both our work and personal passions. As we say goodbye to Maria's story, we thank her for sharing it with us and wish her all the best in her future adventures, both in her career and in life. Her story serves as a reminder of the diverse experiences that enrich our team at Scribe-X. We look forward to more stories like hers, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of our organization.
